Fibroids : Fibroids are common muscle tumors of the uterus.
Risk Group
Women of child bearing age group (5-20% of cases)
Women aged between 30-50 years.
Women who have borne no children.
Risk Factors :
Over drugging by oral contraceptives.
Signs and Symptoms
Uterine bleeding (heavy, irregular, painful)
Fibroid mass effect : increased urinary frequency, constipation, pressure on pelvic region, abdominal fullness.
Discomfort or pain during intercourse.
Complications
Anaemia
Increased risk of miscarriage
Preterm birth
Infertility
