Infertility is the state of absent or lessened fertility which may be present in men or women and is caused by a variety of factors. A couple is considered to be infertile when they are unable to conceive within one year of unprotected intercourse if they are 35 or younger or within six months if they are over 35, or are unable to carry a pregnancy to term. According to Unani system, Infertility may be caused by diet, exercise, use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco, chronic illness, previous illness or medical treatments, sexually transmitted diseases, exposure to toxins or abnormal sexual functioning.
