4 easy-to-flow steps to success.
“Each morning brings new challenges. Each day brings with it new things to learn. The opportunities that present themselves should be clasped ferociously with a talongrip. Your life, work, happiness and health are all in your hands!
Today’s work environment is full of strife. You have to put in better quality work and more quantity of work to even avoid slipping down a rung below. Add to this a little attention demanded by family and friends and you have your hands full. The difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful person is not in how much of stress you can handle, but rather in how you handle your stress. Here is how you can manage stress to work towards everyday victory in a work environment.
If you are not doing what you like, start liking what you do :
This is not a fantastic statement. If you go unhappy to work each day, chances are you are going to be more stressed than you would be in ordinary circumstances. I have been lucky. I love what I do. But many a time, you get stuck in circumstances that are not of your making. But if you learn to say that, ‘This is my work. I am going to do my best today. I Love what I do, you will find that this first mantra will help you to get through the day better. You have a choice, you can either crib and fuss over it or you can love what you do and give it your best short.
Love yourself before you love others :
Know (not just think) that you are good you are good looking, you are good at work, you are a good husband/father/child. If certain circumstances make you behave contrary to the ‘Good You’, change yourself, not the circumstance. Once you believe in the second mantra, you will see your confidence rise and your output (in anything) becoming better with time.
Give yourself time :
One reason that people are often stressed is that they don’t spend enough time with themselves. We are always with others and there is absolutely no time to introspect and clear the cobwebs that can only go when there is conversation with the self. Your thoughts will become crystal clear to you when you understand yourself, for this is the mantra of the sages.
Care for your most important asset :
Care for your body. Give it the right fuel (eat the right food), maintain it well (exercise well) and rest it sufficiently. I have always reiterated that an unhealth body always has a direct impact on the power of the mind. Exercise regularly and keep the body in a good shape, and you will see your personality at work change within weeks.
Practice these mantras and you will find your colleagues at work wondering what you’ve been taking for breakfast each day!”
